Virtual Learning Opportunities

The Connecticut Virtual Learning Center offers Connecticut high school students the opportunity to take online supplemental courses for credit.  The courses are pre-approved by the CT State Department of Education's Bureau of Curriculum and Instruction and are taught fully online by State-certified teachers.  Available courses include Advanced Placement, credit recovery, and a variety of world language classes.  The CTVLC program is managed by the Connecticut Distance Learning Consortium (CTDLC).  You may learn more about the CTVLC by visiting their web site here.

The RESC Alliance gives Connecticut middle and high school students access to Virtual High School classes via the VHS Consortium. VHS offers more than 200 courses, including Advanced Placement, honors, world languages, career exploration, and classes for credit recovery and enrichment.  VHS also offers teachers professional development and the opportunity to connect online with fellow educators from around the world.  As a statewide initiative, the CT VHS program offers discounted fees, flexible membership options, peer support, and coordination for Connecticut schools.  You may learn more about VHS here or go to the VHS website.

CREC and LEARN provide Connecticut students with the chance to learn online and ultimately meet their high school graduation requirements with the Virtual Learning Academy.  Through credit recovery courses designed to address multiple learning styles, the VLA helps school districts meet the educational challenges of all of their students, including those who are homebound, NCAA-approved athletes, at risk, expelled, incarcerated, or who have special needs or non-traditional schedules.  You may learn more about the VLA here or visit the VLA website.
